About KETRA
Help us to Give Childrens Unforgettable Expirience
As a nation, we know it is not right that anyone should be left hungry or live in extreme poverty. But whilst we work towards a change, KETRA food banks provides emergency food and compassionate, dignified support to people locked in crisis in the Kingswood estate community.
KETRA is Kingswood Estate Tenants and Residents Association in West Dulwich; at the southerly tip of Southwark, almost bordering on Bromley, Lewisham, Lambeth and Croydon; and is only 15 minutes from Victoria by train.
Ketra has established a new local Foodbank set up during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic to address the issue of food poverty in our community. They supported over 500 residents on our Estate – (Kingswood Estate, Dulwich SE21) and the surrounding area during the lockdown.
Kingswood Community consists of a grade 2 listed mansion, known as Kingswood House, and the Housing Estate which surrounds it.
The House contains a library, function rooms for weddings, conferences and other events, rooms which can be hired as offices, and rooms for community events.
Its roads: Bowen Drive, Seeley Drive and Lyall Avenue can be accessed from Kingswood Drive. Its other borders include Hunts Slip Road, and the line of rail from London to Orpington. It has its own access to Sydenham Hill Station which links the community with Herne Hill, Brixton, and Victoria to the north and Beckenham, Bromley and Orpington to the south.
The community is fortunate in having its own local shops, Nursery School and Primary School; and nearby a State Secondary School, Health Practice, woods, and churches.
Community activities take place in Kingswood House, at Kingswood Community Shop, and in the KETRA rooms; all located on Seeley Drive.
